Violet has had a stupendous start to 2022!
We have quickly and responsibly settled into our routines with ease. We follow our three core class rules to show respect, be honest and try our best. Our classroom is full of our learning goals, anchor charts and fantastic artwork. We thoroughly enjoy our Read To’s and Number Talks, and end each day by reading for enjoyment the Bad Guys series from Aaron Blabey (currently on volume 3 and love Mr Angus’ voices for the characters).
We are learning about a wide range of interesting topics this term: creating character descriptions in writing; focusing on our letter formation and cursive writing in handwriting; digraphs and trigraphs in spelling; place value, additive strategies, subtraction strategies, multiplicative place value and measurement in Maths; understanding the difference between living and non-living things in Science; learning about keeping safe in PDH; and learning about the colonisation of Australia in History. We love when Mrs Teuma, Mrs Caudle, Miss Amy, Miss Mariam and Miss Kylie help us in our classroom. We use the laptops on Tuesdays with Mrs Tuddenham to work on our computer skills. We enjoy our drumming lessons also on a Tuesday. Each Thursday we borrow amazing books from the library as we look to complete the Premier’s Reading Challenge. On Fridays we adore GOT Games.
Violet relies upon achieving high expectations and the students are relishing in the opportunities provided for them.
