Did you know that the Busby Public School Library is a haven of resources? We have books, ipads and laptops that enhance and extend the learning in the classroom!
At our Library we celebrate all things books – imaginative, persuasive and informative – fiction and non-fiction. We also have digital devices that are used for research and STEM activities. Classes come into the library every week to borrow our huge array of quality literature, suitable for reading from Kindergarten to Year 6. Classes also utilise the Library to research with their class teacher and Miss Marcus.
Mrs Lampier is our Librarian who can assist students to find all our resources in an instant!
Parents are always welcome to come into our Library to borrow books for themselves or their children. Volunteers are always welcome to help with book covering, sorting, or a chat about finding the right book to borrow for their child.
Come into our friendly, well-stocked Library and discover the joy of books!!
Library Borrowing
Students visit the library once a week to borrow books. It is strongly encouraged that all students bring a library bag to borrow. This is to protect the books from damage. Library bags can be purchased from the school office for $5 or you can use any type of sturdy bag. Please label with students name.
Kindergarten students can borrow 1 book.
Year 1 and 2 students can borrow 2 books.
Year 3 and 4 students can borrow 2 books for home and 1 for classroom reading.
Year 5 and 6 students can borrow 3 books for home and 1 for classroom reading.
Overdue Books
If your child has books overdue from our school library, a note will be sent home with the titles and replacement costs listed.
If a book is lost, the replacement cost of the book can be paid at the school office.
If a book is damaged, please return the book to the library for repair or disposal.
Scholastic Book Club
Book Club catalogues are sent home twice a term. There are a wide range of book titles on offer in every issue, ranging from as little as $1.
With every book purchased, the school receives credits to purchase more exciting books and resources for our library.
