Inclusive learning support

NSW public schools are well prepared to support students with disability and additional learning and support needs and staff are ready to answer your questions.

Visit our Inclusive learning support hub for more information on:

At Busby Public School our Diverse Learning Hub currently consists of 3 Special Education classes.

Our Special Education teachers and School Learning Support Officers are dedicated to developing students social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative skills to engage our learners to be successful and reach their full potential. In partnership with parents and carers, teachers identify personalised learning priorities for each student and develop individualised learning plans to support the achievement of each student’s goals. Our teachers ensure that curriculum objectives are aligned with Mainstream Key Learning Areas and that programs are modified and adjusted to suit individual learning styles.

Students from the Diverse Learning Hub (Special Education) also engage in whole school programs aligned with their Mainstream stages such as assemblies, sport, excursions and enjoy interacting with the mainstream students in the playground during recess and lunch times.

Reviews regarding the suitability of placement, student progress and wellbeing  are conducted once a year between the school, parents and carers. Our school counsellor also works closely with our families to support the needs of students in our care.
